Aaron Perahia is a senior associate in Quinn Emanuel’s Los Angeles office. He specializes in high-stakes civil disputes, including complex commercial, intellectual property, and entertainment and media matters. Recognized for his strategic and skillful approach to litigation, Aaron ranked as one of The Best Lawyers in America: Ones to Watch, Commercial Litigation, in 2024 and 2025.
He has helped clients achieve success at every stage of a case—from pre-trial to trial to appeal—in state and federal courts across the country, as well as in mediation and arbitration. With extensive trial experience, Aaron knows how to win—and win big—in front of juries. Among other trial victories, he was counsel in a three-month trial where a jury found for his clients on all claims, resulting in a nine-figure judgment for his clients and a complete rejection of the defendant’s eight-figure counterclaims. The jury’s verdict in that case was one of the top five largest verdicts in California that year.
Aaron devotes a substantial portion of his practice to representing high-profile entertainment, media, technology, and fashion clients in copyright, trademark, defamation, and contractual disputes. Some of those representations include:
- Representing a leading artificial intelligence company in a trademark infringement and unfair competition lawsuit.
- Representing a global leader in digital animated children’s content in a copyright infringement lawsuit.
- Represented one of the top Grammy-awarded artists in lawsuits over songwriting and recording contracts, including whether further performance was excused under California’s “Seven-Year Rule.”
- Represented a television broadcast provider in a trademark lawsuit, resulting in a complete win after a jury trial that was affirmed on appeal.
- Represented Academy Award-winning actor and producer, and their production company, in a lawsuit against their co-production company concerning motion picture production agreements.
- Represented a screenwriter and director in a lawsuit against a motion picture production company involving copyright and defamation claims.
- Represented a leading motion picture organization in a lawsuit alleging trademark infringement and other claims related to the Academy Awards.
- Represented a fashion designer in connection with contractual obligations under a partnership agreement with a global clothing company.
- Represented a television programming distributor in defense of a lawsuit alleging racial discrimination over carriage of television programming.
In addition, Aaron dedicates a sizable portion of his practice to product liability, false advertising, unfair competition, and consumer fraud litigation. He has significant experience defending leading consumer products and food/beverage companies in high-stakes litigation over the safety and marketing of their products. With a deep understanding of the complexities of product liability litigation, which often turn on complex scientific, technical, and regulatory issues, Aaron works closely with his clients to successfully defend against product liability and related claims.
